Speakers Corner -- Rates & Terms

Inside Insight, a.k.a. Michael Kornfeld, offers presentations, workshops, interviews and articles on a variety of topics. We take great pride in our presentations and make great efforts to ensure they are both, entertaining and valuable.

If you want to get a quote, or if you require additional information, please contact us.

Our Methodology:
In terms of methodology, all our presentations use three principles:

  1. All presentations are case-study-driven. We normally use only a small bit of theory to establish some common ground and to set-up a framework, and then we use literally dozens of real-life examples to get the message across and show practical applications. The examples are mostly directly taken from the internet and are depicted with actual screenshots.
  2. Though we normally use similar case studies, we always adapt the tone of voice to the intended target audience, making sure the entire presentation is target group-oriented. The main criteria is the level of experience with interactive media, but e.g. professional backgrounds are also taken into consideration.
  3. Our presentations are normally deliberately very provocative. This is because we want to make people think!

Our experience so far is overwhelmingly positive; We usually get as feedback that the presentations are short-winded and entertaining, yet still clearly communicate the intended message.
The drawback of this methodology, however, is that is requires a lot of constant research on our side as well as a lot of time for preparation -- but that's a price we are glad to pay.

Our Rates:
In light of our methodology, our rates vary considerably according to topic, required research, and length of the presentation. (We don't have standard presentations, but we do have standard topics.)
If you'd like to get a quote, please ask! Hey, and asking is completely free!

Just to give you a feeling, however, here is a general rule of thumb:

  • a basic presentation for about 45min, requiring little additional research, would normally cost between € 350 and € 500.
  • an advanced presentation for about 60min with quite some additional research, would normally cost between € 500 and € 1.000.

The one thing we normally won't do is to present for free (unless there is a clear benefit for us to do so) -- because a lot of work and time goes into the preparation, and you want to get real quality, don't you?

Our Terms:
Just to avoid any misunderstandings, here are some of our -- negotiable -- terms:

  • Unless specified otherwise, our fee includes a briefing discussion with you, the preparation, travel to and from the location (provided it is within city limits -- see below), the presentation itself, an optional half an hour of answering questions afterwards, and the setting-up of a download-area on our website.
  • there are no additional travel expenses within city limits; outside of the city, extra travel expenses will be charged as billed without any extra fees (alternatively, flights and hotel may of course be booked by your travel department). Travel time is only charged at 50% of our hourly rate and only if the journey exceeds two hours.
  • Booking a presentation entitles you for it to be held once before the intended target group, as well as to transmit it live (ie, simultaneously) on the Internet. Please note that we retain all rights and that no presentation or part of it may be taped, photographed, published, distributed (including being put online), copied, or sold without our express permission in writing.
  • Understandably, we never make our source code (eg, powerpoint files) available. However, we will be happy to provide you -- free of charge -- with a PDF-file of the presentation if you so desire. Our fee includes that this PDF file (or a paper print of it) is being distributed to the attendees of the presentation.
  • We normally do not give out the presentation (or a PDF file) before the presentation itself, because we often include "latest news", and because our experience has shown that a lot of the "surprise factor" is lost if the attendees have a chance to read the presentation beforehand.

If you want to get a quote, or if there are any questions, please contact us and we will be happy to be of service.
